Hey Sensei, I dont have my JK yet. Still Debating on it. But i live in Saratoga area. Hey maybe you can help me. Since we have such crappy winters and its cold. I didnt know whether to get a Hard Top or Soft. Theres not a whole lot of difference correct except the way you take it off right? Im a total Jeep newbie but as soon as this JK came out i had to have one. I have a BMW 325I now and love it but its time for some change.
If you dont mind me asking what are you paying? Im just looking at a loaded but not that intense X. Soon as i get one we will have to go riding.

Wakecrazy,
There is quite a bit of difference between the tops. The hardtop is much nicer in the winter. It is quite heavy though. It will take at least two people to lift it off (if those people are seriously into weight lifting). More realistically oyu will need 4 people. There is also a aftermarket hoist kit that you can buy and mount on the ceiling of a garage if you have one. The soft top can be put up/taken down by one person. I got the dual top option on mine (both hard and soft). I will use the hard top in the winter and the soft top once the weather turns nicer.

Thanks for the info. I really want one of these since the first time i saw it. The problem is gas mileage and i would be buying this to try to save money. I pay about 400 a month for my BMW now and i wanted some considerable less, do you know anywhere around our area that has good lease options or good buy rates. If you mind me asking what are you looking to pay. I have great credit and would try to trade my beamer.

Wakecrazy,
The JK's are so popular right now that most dealerships in the area aren't offering too much in the way of deals. I went with Goldsteins since they did give me the best deal. Don't know how much you will get on your trade in (depending on what you owe vs. what the current trade in value is on a 325i), but with a decent down payment, I would think you should be able to get down to around $300/month or better on a 3yr lease.

Just picked up my JK 4 Door Sahara in Steel Blue Yesterday...I am from Ballston Spa and my summer house in Lake George. Been loving this weekend's weather, and the looks from people with the top down.
Traded in my 2003 Audi A4....loved the quattro but wanted the clearance. The 3 feet we got this winter will have to deal with my JK next year....last time it gets me stuck(i got stuck in the A4 with quattro and snow tires because of clearance). Looking forward to the summer with the top off and then a snowy winter..
LOVING IT!

I'm down in the Binghamton area, but my family has a place up in OldForge which we go to pretty often in the summer...we should be ordering a JK within the next few weeks for our 'mild' offroader since the buggy is only a trailer queen
