1st Annual VA Turkey Crawl - November 26th

This trail run will be a chance for everyone to get together, meet new jeepers, and mainly clean the trails of all trash and debris. Since the locals there allow us to wheel, the least we can do is clean the mess from others so that the trail remains open for everyone to enjoy. Plus this will give us a chance to let the newer people get some experience. If I counted correctly I think we have around 12 people who are new to wheeling.

We will be doing this trail from the Bottom to the Top. Due to the size of our group we will "play it by ear" with doing the run back down for camp in case it gets to dark when we finish the first run. There were multiple camping sites on the top end so it shouldnt be an issue finding one.

We will be communicating on Channel 4 throughout the trip.

T-Shirt Information Sheet- THE ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED!!!. Original Order List
If you would like a shirt and you did not make it on the original purchase please pm me and I will start a list of those people . Final shirt price is $16.50. If you have not paid please pm me so I can collect your payment.

Yeah both days work for me as of now. Ill let you know if something changes. I know Battlefrog said something about camping. Id say if its not gonnabe freezing then I wouldn't mind camping Saturday night. But I guess that will have to be figured out closer to the trip.

here is the google maps link to the 'almost' trail head. At that point, take a RIGHT onto Perkins Mills Road

I'll have to run it past CINC-House to see if we are allowed out to play.

I'd be up for either day. 26th is better for me. I like to have low-key Sundays before heading back to the office.

I'm new to the JK and its still stock, heck I have not even had a chance to put it in 4wd yet as work and my kids keep me busy but if you would'nt mind a new guy tagging along I would be up for a run on Sat. As long as I dont brake it the wife would be fine as its my DD. Is anyone coming out of stafford for this?

You are more then welcome to come! Dont worry im still a new guy also lol. There isnt really anything you need to worry about at shoe creek. All the crazy stuff either has a bypass or you have to drive to it (at a dead end- slick rock). The only things "crazy" I recall are the creek crossings, 2 large boulders at separate locations(has bypass), slick rock(you have to want to do it), twists and turns, some hill climbs (have bypass), and basically a rocky dirt road. If anyone else has something to add or suggest please interject.

Thanks, sounds like fun, I had a 05 TJ with a lift and Mickey T MTZs that I used to drive over, through anything......but this one still has the stock goodyear 17" tires, thats the only thing that bugs me as they are not the best tires for off road - great on the HWY though. Should I bring any recovery gear or is it a trail ride unless I want to get nuts?
