well......i have some good news and bad news. the bad news is my jeep is still burning copious amounts of oil, been through too many oil consumption tests to count. havent been able to get any help from chrysler. my gold plan warranty is 3000km from expiring and i dont want to be stuck owing $20,000 on a jeep that is most likely going to self destruct. with the amount of things that have gone wrong with it im starting to think its a lemon.
So the good news....found a dealer that will give me a good trade in value on my 08, now im looking at getting a 2012. Im a sucker for jeeps after the service i recieved on the first one i should by rights be buying a chev...but i cant live without a jeep. so im taking the plunge again. now i just have to decide on a bare bones rubi or a fully loaded sahara....leaning towards the sahara. let me know your thoughts.

Steve i know all about gas savings my jetta has already paid for itself, actually if you want to look at it that way its making me money now.

Hey good to hear from you Mike!

Yup the car is a great idea and has paid for itself several times over already lol.

Sorry to hear about the Detonator but with your future options available it looks like it's going to be OK for you and your Jeep addiciton lol

If I were to choose between a Sarah and Rubi I would select a bare bones Rubi every time... the axles, lockers, disconnects and gearing make it a no brainer for me. You will mod and customize your Jeep over time even with something as simple larger tires the 4.10 gears would be better than the Sahara's 3.73's. However I believe a Rubi comes with all the bells and whistles anyway so you should get all the things the Sahara has but what do I know.

Anyway, again, good to hear from you Mike and we'll have to set up another run sometime... last one took a year in the making but turned out very well and all worth it in the end.

Hope you and the family are doing well

Later,

Looks like a Rubicon is in the future, your right Steve it was a no brainer once I really thought about it, now to decide on a color....black Forrest green pearl if there isn't too long of a waiting list, if so just black I think.

Sorry... A black unlimited Rubicon, dealer almost had me convinced to get a Sahara Arctic edition, it was nice, a lot of bells and whistles but for the same price of a bare bones Rubi so I opted out of fancy schmancy for 4x4 muscle.

With the work you've done to yours it's no slouch, I'm just taking the easy but expensive route and getting er right out of the box.

Yeah and in hindsight..... I should have gone that route too "right out the box!".... and I still don't have that cheater switch I wanted all along lol (lockers)

Again.... congrats buddy.... maybe a Rubi is in my future someday too (soon I hope )
