Looking for a fun run in July (Central Arizona)
I hear the backroad to CrownKing isn't fit for newbies or stock Jeeps. Is this true? If a stock Jeep can make it I'd be down for going. If it's questionable I'll just have to meet you guys in Crown King going the main way. =) The last two weekends in August are out for me but any other weekend between now and then should be good.
I'd head up to Four Peaks this Saturday with you but have a beer gathering to attend. I'll be running the Four Peaks area in August when my brother comes in. I plan to take 143 all the way to 188 and then head down the Apache Trail.

CK is a fairly easy trail. It is pretty diverse and goes from low desert up to 7000 ft with Juniper and Pines. Most of the trail isnt bad at all and is WELL traveled. There are 4 (I think) obstacles that can be challenging and are not fit for a stock Jeep. Each of these have a bypass, which arent too hard. There is one tight hairpin turn that is tough and does not have a bypass, but is short. If you dont mind me strapped up, worse case is pull you thorugh it. I hate being the one to make the call on what can make what run. I would say if you like a challenge, it is possible to do it open/open on 31s. But then again, I have never wheeled with you and would hate to tell you that and have you get bent at me for getting you in over your head... Read some reviews online and make a call.
Now, more importantly, where is this FREE BEER?!?!?!?!

Hey I never said FREE beer. I've been putting together gatherings with a group of guys where we each bring new/different beers to taste and drink while eating food that's really bad for you and playing games (darts, washers, poker, etc). Kind of a local version of a larger gathering I've put together for 3 years now in North Carolina....hence the name BrewSwapGuy.
I don't think I'll do the CK trail until I hear from some other veterans who say whether or not its suitable for stock. I haven't run off road yet, just got the Jeep 3 weeks ago. Looking forward to my first one in July, solo if I have to.

I'm still down for doing this on July 12th. Each of us will need a State Land Permit to be able to cross through New River. It's $15 for an individual permit for a year or $20 for a family permit (covers only those living in your household). You can get them in Phoenix same day at their office. I need to go get one this week.
Rustler & Beenkop, if you guys want to go I'll go up and check out a meet spot. I'd suggest we get an early start to avoid the heat in mid to late afternoon. What do you guys think?

I would like to meet up with you all on this one.
