Toyfreak and I rolled into Ouray today. Did Corkscrew, Poughkeepsie, and Engineer Pass it was awesome!!! One of the coolest things about today was the fact that our wives earned there trail cred.

What route did you guys take? Through Albuquerque or Santa Fe? We'll be heading that way in a few days - heading out Friday night from Lawton, hope to make it to Durango by lunch Saturday July 10th. I thought toyfreak said you guys might be heading back by that time.

We went through Woodward-Raton-Trinidad. I have since heard that it is quite a bit quicker to take the route your planning on (Albuquerque).
We are heading back on the 9th.

Yeah, I think going I40 - Albuquerque and up through Durango to Ouray would've probably saved an hour or more. We plan on going that route, except rather than go through Albuquerque, we'll take the turn of at Cline's Corners on I-40 and up into Santa Fe, Chama and onto Pagosa Springs and then to Durango. The time difference in the two routes is about 15 mins, but going through the Pagosa Springs area offers a more scenic drive. What time on the 9th are you guys headed out of there? We may pass each other somewhere along the line.

Planning on doing Blackbear either on the 14th or 15th, depending on when we finish up with Alpine Loop and a few local trails there. Stay a night in Telluride or Alta Lakes and then back to Ouray on the 16th or 17th. So, if we don't meet you in Lake City, we'll be at the KOA in Ouray around the 16th or 17th
We're heading to Lake City early on the 15th, should be there around early afternoon. We are staying the night in Lake City, doing the alpine loop ending up in Ouray the afternoon of the 16th. Planning on doing Yankee Boy Basin Saturday the 17th, and whatever else we can fit in that day, maybe Imogene. I don't think Governor basin will be open, from the look of all the recent photos - there's still just too much snow. As we get closer to our trip I can pm you a phone number to contact us if you are going to be in Ouray on the 16th & 17th or thereabouts. We will be staying at the Chalet Inn in Ouray Friday and Saturday nights, and will probably hit the True Grit Cafe at least once in Ridgeway.

I was really hoping to have someone to do the Alpine Loop with on the 16th out of Lake City since it is just me and my wife, but if not, no bigee. There will probably be plenty of folks on the trail. It would be great to meet up with a JKer off the forum in Ouray regardless.

We're in Colorado at the koa in Durango. Went to sand dunes but the trail was closed. Staying an extra day on Durango and leaving for silverton/ouray the morning of 13th. Plan was to stay in ouray 2 days and do the Alpine loop, blackbear and Imogene pass then head to grand junction on the 15th. I'll see if I can hang around another day.
