Weather for Colorado Pass Openings
Ok guy's the wife and I are really getting down to the last details of our trip west to Moab.
We will be running out Rt70 west to Colorado, then would love to run Rt50 through the mts. But I understand that the Passes or even parts of the road may not be open because of weather. (Snow)
Does anyone know how we could check on Road and Pass conditions on Rt50 via our Laptop just befor we get there ? Or are we better off just staying on Rt70 ?

go to cotrip.org for colorado road conditions.
But unless it is a road regularly closed in the winter, it should be open. I am in Breckenridge right now and the snow conditions are pretty slim.

it sounds like you are taking the long way there, but should be a nice drive

I've made that trip plenty of times (Grand Junction to Pueblo) and the only part of it that you may run into problems is on Monarch Pass. If you hit it during or after a storm it can be a little hairy, but most of the time it is well plowed and sanded.
With my luck a storm will hit the pass about the same time as we get there.
