Been using the 300 for a while now.

Its rugged. Dropped it a few times on the trail and its survived a few dunks into a mountain brook. Only issue that I get frustrated with at times is needed to take off gloves when its cold to use the system.

I agree with don't bother spending the extra money on the "T" model. You can not transfer the map to the computer and use it to plan waypoints or trails in basecamp. Spend the money you save on the Maps themselves and transfer them to the unit as needed.

 

also have the 550T, the unit is awesome. the camera works good too. have been using it for about 8 month and am very happy.

 

Finnaly got the 550T. Love it, its worken great for me.

I have the Oregon 450 and I love it. Easy to use and great tracking. Plus Garmin have amazing warranty. I was mountain biking and had the mount, it came off while I was coming downhill and cracked the screen pretty good. Sent it back and they sent me a new one!

 

I need to check my model number, but the one complaint I have is that my Oregon is not Lithium Ion rechargable batteries.. just Double A.. Also, I did notice it uses the same car charger as my cell phone so save some $$ on the car kit...

oh and I should add i did buy the extra Maps and use them all the time for the trails.. they are awesome

 

I have a 450T and it works great for caching and general off-road travel. I would like a 650T but still to many $$.
