Has anybody in this WI thread done a 3.8 engine swap from an '11 into a '07? I am doing this swap and want to know of there are any watchouts I need to be aware of. The charts indicate compatibility between '08-'11 and it excludes '07 for some reason unknown to me. They all have the 3.8L engines. Once them engines are swapped, I will be installing the Magnuson Supercharger. First thing is to get the new '11 engine installed and running. Any experience out there with what won't work?

Im assuming this is just a long block swap? Not changing ECU's or other gear? If thats the case its an easy (although lengthy) swap.

Why the swap though? Blown engine?

headers cracked, head gasket has been leaking for about 20,000 miles and I have about 115k miles on it. I also have a friend that did an LS swap on his 2011 when it had only a couple hundred miles on it. So I basically got a brand new engine to install and add the supercharger and headers to.

I had my 5.13s installed at Apple Automotive in Pewaukee. They did a good job but were pricey (don't think any pricier than anybody for that type of work though). They looked to be out of business for a while but the lights appear to be back on now.

. If I remember correctly, I spent $2,200 on labor alone.

Damn!

Everyone here should really look into C&C off-road in Kenosha .

Bob is a great guy with great service and if you are paying that for a gear install I guess he has great prices also.

Yukon gears and everything out the door was around 1200.00 ((yes installed))

And he offers a lifetime guarantee on install and Yukon has one if the best guarantees also

If your paying more then $1200-$1500 for gears and labor then you should be shopping around more. That's crazy!
