New Jeeper here from Western WI.

Got myself a '14 JKU Sport. Finally got one after years of wanting one.

Any good trails in the area?

 

None around the west or south central that are public. I've looked hard. If you find any, let me know and I'll go with.

 

I'm on my phone so bear with me. Close is relative in this part of the country. Plan on driving a bit unless you find access to private property.

Apple valley farms has two public events. I think one is in june and one in july. MN trail riders has a run in the river falls area this summer. Check out dresser, wi (trollhaugen) because there is usually one or two "open to the public" events in addition to the big memorial run. Gilbert MN is a great park. Badlands offroad park in Attica, IN is awesome.

Starting to get further away is the black hills, SD area which is awesome and the Drummond island area.

Wow, just stumbled on to this thread. I'm not sure how I've missed it! I'm up on the lake in south range area. I'm glad i found a WI thread!
