My HBAR with new furniture...
Magpul MOE handguard with MOE rails. Laser sight mounted in left side within reach of thumb. Tactical light on right hand side. Collapsible 5-position vertical front grip. Need to get a rail mount for the scope since I HATE having it mounted on the handle. It is too high to be practical and that bolt-on rail sucks ass because it comes loose if I shoot too much or too fast.
The collapsible stock is a Tapco Intrafuse T6 stock. It was stupid simple to install and I love it. The grip is a Blackhawk ergonomic grip.
The beauty of this whole thing? Before the mods, this rifle was HEAVY. It seems a damn sight lighter now. If anyone has any suggestions on the scope mount, feel free to post em up.

jeepguy553,
You could swap out that A2 upper receiver, for a flat top (A3/A4) upper receiver.
Though it could end up too low and require a spacer/riser, to get it just right.
It's an easy DIY with the right tools.
If you worry about breaking/scratching the receiver,
a shop could do it for little cost.

az-gunner I think you are right about swapping out for an A3 upper. I honestly thought they were a lot more expensive than that. Short of cutting the handle off (stupid idea, I know) I don't see any other way to get the scope down to where I want it. I don't have a barrel wrench, but I am sure I could find one around here...or have a shop swap the parts out. I really like the heavy barrel so swapping it out isn't an option.
Thanks!

I'll have to dig a little bit, but I have good pic for reference.

That's just about perfect! VERY nice pic man!
I think I will just get a complete new upper so I don't eff up the original Colt upper. I hear they hold their value better if you don't cobble them together with other pieces-parts.

Just got this one built for my girlfriend.

Tactical machining stripped lower, palmetto state armory lower build kit, moe furniture, dti a3 upper, heavy barrel profile. She loves it, sat on the couch starting at it all night. Can't wait to take it out this week.
