Do you have your CCW?
I also carry a beretta nano in a remora holster everywhere I go... Better to have and not need then to need and not have. My remora holster makes it even nicer to carry, favorite holster I own.
Sent from somewhere I really shouldn't be!

Don't want to stir the pot but I've never understood the need living in and urban environment? I carried a shotgun when I was working in the arctic circle and had to use it on wolves and almost a polar bear once. I also carried when I was working in Africa where it seemed everything was trying to kill me. Living in a city it seems so useless, if someone is trying to mug me or any other scenario in close quarters I can close a 25' gap faster than most people could draw their weapon and my knife will make quick work of you! If you are intending to shoot me from a distance greater than 25' then it's probably a targeted attack and it won't matter what I'm carrying as I won't know it's coming! If someone is close quarters and already has drawn down on me then having any weapon won't matter because they can squeeze a trigger faster than I can draw so my only hope is to get out of the way, make myself as hard to hit as possible and get close enough to disarm/disable them. I carry a tool that can be used for infinite things, can save lives and take lives. My knife can be used for less than lethal force and can escalate to lethal if required and de-escalate again once the threat is neutralized. A gun serves but one purpose and global statistics show that the majority of in home shootings are a result of mistaken identity and it's often a friend or family member who is injured not an assailant. Living in a city my guns are safely locked in a vault until needed. I have A LOT of them and love them dearly but find them superfluous for urban life. I think if more people had propper edged tool training such as that provided by Grand Master Bram Frank and his Modular Blade Craft or Common Sense Self Defense programs they'd be a lot safer and carry a much more useful tool than a firearm.
Just my $0.02 and to each their own. If you are licensed to carry and choose to then all the power to you that's your choice and I'll respect that.
Last point, the countries in this world that have the lowest rates of violent crime all also carry the strictest gun laws and harshest penalties for violence.

I honestly don't want to start a fight and am not looking for a ton of angry rebuttals! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that was mine. If you disagree I don't have a problem with that or fault you in any way for it because that's your right just as my opinion is mine. I know a lot of people who are armed at all times and we discuss it at length but I can promise that not one of them has been able to draw down on me before I've been able to get to their vitals with a knife and they've been testing me for YEARS!
I've also taken a lot of tactical shooting courses and studied body alignment aiming and such. I've competed in IPSC competitions and have been a firearm enthusiast my whole life. I'm not some anti gun a-hole, I love the ! Just don't feel a need for one on a daily basis as I stated.

In the small town where I grew up. We all had guns...even as kids. They were in our trucks at school, loaded, during hunting season. We carried pocket knives. Heck I still do. Murder and violent crime rate was nonexistent. I believe people today in all walks of life wish to demand respect as opposed to earning it. We said stupid things like yes sir and were polite to our elders. I could go on. I sound like my dad. Ouch.
As to the reason of violence in America today...that's a different post I guess. One you may wish to open up.
Ol Bob
Oh yeah. I don't now and don't plan on starting to carry. Never felt the need or desire. Who knows maybe one day. Doubt it though.

I have a permit, carry frequently. There are facts around carrying, as with anything in life. The best weapon? Knowledge, with anything. People who ask if I do carry, often want to know why. My simple response? The same reason they wear a seat belt or have a fire extinguisher in the house. You hope you never need it, but it's there, just in case. Usually, that gets them thinking differently. One friend I have said they could never carry or shoot someone. I said good, I'll shoot them for you, if you need the protection. They charmingly accepted.
As for the above posts, there are facts around much of what was stated. And, there are entirely too many scenarios to state "what we would do". The best method, train, train some more, train even more, know your limitation, know your being, and be ready to face ANY consequences of your actions. Actions in either defense, retreat or aggression.
Now, back to us all living the way we feel is best for our own lives.
