Default Antennae question

I need to get in a parking garage daily. Would a 3 ft antennae work mounted on the rear bumper. If so is it a significant downgrade on range. Which antennae do you all recommend?

I have a 4ft and it barely bumps the rubber seal in my garage door so a 3ft I would imagine would clear your parking garage.
As for range I could not share any knowledge.

How far above the roof does your antennae extend?

do a 4ft and a quick release. makes pulling into the garge better and the 4ft will get up above that roof line a little better.

I'd say 8-10" I thought the 3' wouldn't get me a good shot of getting a signal out. I mounted it with the cooltech ultra mount of of the license plate holder.

So you're saying pull the antennae off each day before pulling into the garage? Seems like a hassle and what if I forget. I guess I could pull it off and only put it back on when I plan on using it. Primary use will be communication on trail rides or for amusement while on the road on trips.
