CB Antenna instead of a radio antenna
So, now with my JKU I am seriously thinking about getting a CB. I never installed one in my KJ but had thought about it fairly often. My question for you is, why do more people not put their CB antenna where their radio antenna is and just slap a splitter on it so it can do both radio and CB traffic? I am a total noob when it comes to CBs so, slam away, I am a big boy and can take it.

I dont think it will work....to much interference I beleive. Also the antenna needs to have larger coils to transmit and receive. Better to do it seperatley. The other thing is tuneing the antenna, cant do it on the radio antenna but can with a cb antenna.
Ok. I only knew one guy that did it and he sold his rig shortly after getting it all done up. He had a splitter on it and a few other things. I can post his part list if anyone is interested and if I find it. Should be on my desk somewhere

I also know very little about CBs but along the lines of the OPs question, what about replacing the AM/FM antenna with a CB antenna? I don't think I've ever used the AM/FM radio in the jeep. Is there a 90 degree mount of some sort that could hold a 3 foot? Would this be advisable?
