Default CB Antenna Mount for JK Installed

I’ve been lurking here and reading a lot of great posts since buying my JK in December. This really seems like a great community and I hope to be able to contribute.

As such, I’ve done my first mod which is just so cool I wanted to share with others. There’s a guy who lives not far from me who has just started to sell these CB antenna mounts. I think I am his first customer. He has a white JK as well, so maybe these only work on white (lol)!

The antenna mount fits completely inside of the license plate assembly. You don’t have to do any drilling or make any holes in your body. The only mod is to drill a hole in the top of the plastic license plate assembly to let the antenna mount through. His custom mount is made completely of stainless steel. It looks pretty good but the whole thing gets covered by the license plate. The other really cool part is that the coax is completely hidden and comes into the JK through an existing rubber grommet. The cable has a really small end on it which allows you to easily route it and then you just screw on the normal CB connector.

The whole installation and routing of the wire all the way to the dash took me about an hour. I really like the outcome! It makes the Jeep look “tough” and it also looks completely factory – unlike other mount solutions I’ve seen. The antenna, as you can see from the pictures, runs parallel to the rear taillight and even in high wind conditions on the freeway, the antenna never touches the light or the body/top of the JK.

The kit comes with the new FireStik FireFly 4’ antenna with a tunable tip. I got my SWR to 1.5:1 and I think I can do a little better tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to doing more mods to my JK including bumper and tire carrier upgrades. I like the fact that I’ve gotten the antenna mount taken care of and that the locations is such that it will not interfere with other mods I am considering. I’m not sure if the person selling them is on this board or not, but maybe he will chime in if he is.

Here's some pics.

Does this kit also come with the cable? or just the antenna?
Either way what is the cost and contact info for the person selling them?

Im with everyone else I like the look of it but we need some more info such as some contact info and price to this friend that has them down the street cause we dont all live down the stret to someone thats manufacturing antenna mounts for the new JK. Basicly cause I want one too, the only problem my Jk's silver not white. Well it will be when I get it.

I'd like to get one too, but I already have a new coax and Firestik.

Looks like a great solution to mounting the antenna. Now if we could only figure out where to put the CB unit itself...........

I just read yesterday that Jeeperman has an overhead console in the works. I'll be considering this.
