Default CB ground

Hey. Quick question i was hoping someone could answer. I installed my cb today and i mounted the ground straight to the battery. Everything i see says mount it to the body. Is this ok? Is it going to cause me any problems? I figured what better ground than the batt.

You should be fine, your ground on the Battery goes to the ENG Block or frame right?

There is a difference in what the word "Ground" means.

Electical ground is for safety.

RF ground becomes part of the antenna.

You want the RF ground going to the body.

Ground is ground. Battery negative goes right to frame. No diff unless your ground wire is to close to alternator or ignition noise. Since you have no noise go with it.

sorry to hi-jack........i'll be installing a cb as soon as i get my jeep & i've been reading a ground must be added where the antenna goes.

people have mentioned a grounding strap so my question is: where do i get one or how do i make one??

i've been to a couple of radio shack locations & they don't know what i'm talking about. can someone here please tell me how i should go about doing this?

please excuse the dumb question, i'm trying to learn ........

i've got the cobra 75wxst, 3' firestick antenna, 18' mini 8 coaxial cable & ss mount. i plan to place it on the spare tire mount.

thanks in advance!
