This is a quick picture that I made with the dimensions of my CB mount. Pictures to follow. This mount gets attached the same way as Hooked's electronics mount -- https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/electronics-mount-2536/ . Width is the width of the panel (which is either 10 or 11 and 1/2", but I forgot).

The wings are about 3/4" short to be able to place the radio underneath, so when I get more time, I will update the 5 1/2" wings to a better size. I will also do a writeup. I'll let you know how to make your radio will fit better if you make this.

Edit:
The WIDTH is 10 1/2", and the proper height (was 5 1/2") is 7 1/4". My radio is the Uniden pc68xl, and it's height is 2.165"(55 mm in manual).

A real write-up full of pics will follow. Sorry about the crappy pic, but my normal camera's battery is dead. What I did was take a piece of aluminum that holds up the plastic for over a fluorescent light. It was "L" shaped, 7/8" on both sides. Hammered it flat, and cut it to specs above. then re-bent the wings, and drilled the holes to mount to radio sides. Used Hooked's write-up for the actual mounting to the radio. Still haven't had time to modify it, but i will cut the middle a bit, then re-bend the wings so that my CB hangs from the mount (almost sitting on the dash).

Here is a teaser.

Edit:
Like I promised, here is a picture of the bracket. The white arrow is where I had my original fold. The new fold is the correct height for the radio to sit 1/16" off of the dash.

This is cool, but not condusive to doors off operation. I like the looks of this though...can't wait to see it finished.

Valid point, that is why, when I have time, I will remake this mount out of one piece, and mount the CB directly to it. This way, to steal it, someone will have to completely disassemble the radio, then take it, then reassemble it, so it works.

Default Velcro Dash

Here is mine; an ingenious velcro dash mount....

It is very stable, easy to remove and has worked well so far. I do need to do a better job hiding the wires behind the dashboard!

If you have the compass option it probably will not work right with that mount, the sensor for it is dead center under the top cover on the center stack. If not, no worries!! Where is the speaker on the CB, top or bottom of the case? Most are bottom firing....

Oops, sorry, already addressed but not answered.

Ok, I think I figured out how to post pics, so here goes...sorry if it ain't good... ;-)

Here's my CB mount...the left 2 screws go through the top dash cover as well as the plastic piece that's right on top of the stereo head unit. The right 2 screws only go through the plastic dash top.
