What do you guys think of the Cobra 75 WX ST Compact? I want this but am worried about the signal. I am use to the bigger versions but there really is no room that would fit comfortable to me in my jeep. What line should I use to the antenna?

I have had one for several years. It works really good. The only thing missing is the PA output but very few people actually hook that up anyway.

I mounted mine under the Passengers Seat.

You just want to use quality cable. Get it from the same place you get the antenna. Just make sure the antenna is grounded well and you should not have any problems.

I mounted the junction box to one of the passenger seat support brackets, ran the mic cable up between the seat and console, put the bracket on the console just under the front of the lid. It's out of sight but handy.

Samc - you'll find quite a few people use them on this board. They are perfect for jeeps since as you pointed out they can be well hidden and don't take up room. I have one and love it. Works exactly as I need it - though I have thought of upgrading, for no particular reason than just doing something different.

I am looking to get a Cobra 75 WXST. Can anyone suggest the best place to buy at good
price. Best I have found is ebay at 70.00. I also like the under the seat install mounting
on the console. Can you post pics of the console mount. They are great for Jeeps. small
and compact. We mounted one the last weekend under the dash. took the golve box
out wire tied onto a support and mounted the connector on the piece under the glovebox.
looks good and out of the way as well.

That's a pretty good price. Most places sell it for somewhere between 90 and 110.

pics of console mounting and under seat junction box. the J-box is screwed to the leg of the passenger seat, power wire goes forward under the edge of the console. The mic slips into a normal mic bracket screwed to the front of the console, nearly invisible from outside. The hardest part of the install was drilling and tapping the seat leg; that's some hard, hard stuff.

Not a bad idea. I like mine under the glove box, but that seems like a great alternative.
