That's the kit I first bought. The only thing I'm still using is the coax cable. The radio is a good radio, the mount is solid, BUT you can't move the seat up all the way anymore, so cleaning became a pain. I ended up switching to a Cobra 75wx.

The antenna mount is good, but when I upgraded to a Mopar Bumper/tirecarrier, the mount no longer worked with the 3rd brake light so I switched to a Teraflex mount (same idea just on the otherside of the tire carrie/third brake light.

The antenna is a good one, but I was worried about the tall antenna getting snapped off in the woods, so I went with a 2 foot antenna.

Could I fit in my garage with the antenna you think? and what do you mean you you can't move the seat up? I am going to go with the mount by the driver side leg. And I am prolly just going to end up taking this someplace to get installed because i have no clue what I am doing and don't want to screw it up. Glad to hear its a good radio! hows the range? I am mostly using it for trails but I may turn it on here and there on the highway just to see whats going on

I had it between these two actually but the qtec one seems like a good deal, just looking to see if its reliable, range, etc. Or if anyone had any experience with it. I will definitely keep my options open though, thanks

I used that radio as a back up in my 18 wheeler. When I retired I sold it to another driver as his only radio. 13 years later, it is still going strong.

A friend bought that kit. He was happy. It is a good set up.

I don't know how tall your garage or your rig is, but with the 4 foot Firestik installed, my Jeep looked like a RC car.

The seat will only slide as far front as the radio is mounted. You are mounting it to the plastic console so I waws worried about breaking the console every time I moved the seat forward.

Install is a breeze. The hardest part is running the coax through the tail gate and the power wires through the fire wall, and a 10 year old can do either.

I have this kit and I LOVE IT! I mounted the CB above the mirror. The cable is a perfect fit when You run it in the roll bar padding.
