Cobra 75WX - Be careful of hot spot behind trim
I thought I found a nice place to tuck my Cobra 75WX cable after mounting the remote unit under the glove box. Where the trim piece below the glove box meets the center panel trim, there is a nice little nook that you can put the connector and cable. BUT, as I found out this morning when trying to disconnect it, that there is something VERY HOT
behind that panel. I pulled my hand back pretty quick. I don't know what the component is behind there, but it is pretty freakin hot. No damage to the cable though. I think the connector was against the hot metal.

hmmmm... any pics? you're not talking about the piece directly under the glove box are you? if so i have mine mounted under the glove box with the port coming out from there and never noticed this at all. unless you are talking about the side panel on the center console? bad ground maybe? crossed wires with cig lighter? heater core?
how do you have it wired?
edit:

No, it isnt radio signal/electrically generated heat, it's heater core/ac physical piping. and it is hot enough to burn you, easily.
I know what the OP is refering to, i'll try to find a pic to describe it.
(if anyone knows of one, please post it up)
