Default Cobra 75WX - Be careful of hot spot behind trim

I thought I found a nice place to tuck my Cobra 75WX cable after mounting the remote unit under the glove box. Where the trim piece below the glove box meets the center panel trim, there is a nice little nook that you can put the connector and cable. BUT, as I found out this morning when trying to disconnect it, that there is something VERY HOT behind that panel. I pulled my hand back pretty quick. I don't know what the component is behind there, but it is pretty freakin hot. No damage to the cable though. I think the connector was against the hot metal.

bad ground maybe? crossed wires with cig lighter? heater core?
how do you have it wired?

edit:

Here is where I ran the cable. It looked very nice with the cable tucked behind there and only the cord without connector coming out.

Can't see the pic here at work but radio signals can create heat.

No, it isnt radio signal/electrically generated heat, it's heater core/ac physical piping. and it is hot enough to burn you, easily.

I know what the OP is refering to, i'll try to find a pic to describe it.

(if anyone knows of one, please post it up)

Thanks for the info. Was planning to mount mine in pretty much the same location. Guess I will have to be a little more careful than normal when I do.

Thanks for the tip, I just got mine in the mail today. Only had time to get the antennae mount on and the wires run inside.
