Be lost the thread but thank you. I followed your write up and it works beautifully. Running the cobra 75 and I'm about half deaf anyway. Your solution works like a charm. Padded the corner for some added head protection.

Do you keep the speaker exposed or cover it back up with the fabric?

cover it back. never know it there. till you turn it on.
