KD0EMB right here. My dad WA7QPA has been a ham for aslong as i can remember. He got on my case last year and I got mine followed by my mother (KD0EMA), brother (KD0EIS) and a couple of friends.

2 meter in the Jeep. With the online links its become a good form of communication with my family.

Radio has been in the closet for a LONG time... but the JK takes you places where it sure would come in handy.

I'm KJ6DMD.
In fact that is the first time I have used my call sign. My Dad (KI6UCD) talked me into getting a license. Now I'm trying to figure how and were to install the radio he also gave me - Thanks Dad!

Dad gave me his old Yeaseau (but spelled correctly) 2 meter, with a magnetic mount antenae. It worked very well for him. Like I said earlier I am struggling with where and how to mount it. But truth be told I'm having more trouble getting that couch un-stuck from my rear end.
This think is mostly cooling fins so I assume it puts out a fair amount of heat. Therefore I also assume I'll have to have it exposed rather than in the glove box or in the dash. Damn that couch!

Passed my Technician exam today. I totally over studied for the test since I was worried about about the onset of Alzhiemers, even though I'm in my forties, and the long term effects of my psychedelic college days, but I passed with flying colors. I haven't taken a test in years.

Looks like the CB and Ham section is mostly CB related. I wonder if it would be better if they were split up?

I guess it will be about a week before my callsign shows up in the database.

Congrats..... Yes the test is pretty easy. I really need to get busy on my Extra.

It used to only be a CB section till I got involved and started talking about HAM radio and generating some interest. Then they decided to have a cb AND ham section all tied into one. Which is fine I guess.
