Hello all!

The name is Al, and I've been a Ham since.................1977.............(geez I'm old)...

The original call was WA6SGK. Spent lots of time on 15 and 40 meter CW. Eventually got my General, and spent even more time on VHF/UHF.

In 1985 I had the treat of being "semi-rare" DX whilst doing a stint in the Kwajalein Atoll area. The call then was: KX6BE. Studied furiously, and got my Advanced, then Extra license while there. Got DXCC very easily on 20 SSB, even though we were in a low sun-spot cycle

In 1995 I assumed the call of my late father, and am now W6SE. I hunt and peck on the low end of 20 now and then, and spend time on VHF/UHF repeaters.

First Jeep was a '91 Cherokee. I had fun with that ride. Put over 360,000 on it, so I was prone to buying another Jeep. Then in September, I couldn't wait anymore, and took the plunge. Now a proud owner of a 2010 4D Rubicon (the "first" mode I made was the installation of a new dual-bander). Will eventually get the HF rig installed. They come in handy in some of the places a group of us go.

This is a great site. I've lurked for quite a while, trying to pick up on the nuances of the new ride. Was especially pleased to find the CB/Ham radio forum. Good info here.

73 for now .-- -.... ... .
