There is NO WAY I'm gonna spend the time it would take to get my shack area clean enough to even CONSIDER taking a picture of it.

Besides, due to age and a recent re-roofing all of my antennas are down. So my shack is pretty much useless anyway.

Okaaaaaay.... Well me personally, I don't care how dirty a guys shack is. I just like to see his gear. As you can tell mine isn't exactly clean. All I did was take all the crap off the desk and snap a pic. No biggie man.......

No you didn't......lol.....maybe all but your 10m rig, but 10m IS HF. But you knew that...... That 2970 is a nice rig. I had the 2950 for awhile. I also had a Ranger AR-3500 too which I worked the world with during cycle 22....

Sorry to hear that you let your other gear go, but a guy's gotta do, what a guy's gotta do. You can always buy more when you are able....

Yes Dave, I did !!!!!! Gone is the PRO 2, W2IHY gear, PR40 mic, and the Ameritron amp....

Someday I will re-build a home shack but with summer just around the corner I'm not planning on being inside much anyway so it wouldn't get used much..

I am thinking of maybe buying another TS-2000 and taking it out on the road in the Peterbilt with me...I know the RV'ers love that rig when they travel..

all it takes is money !!

How is the remote head in the center mounted (floating in front of your gear selector)? Any more pics of this setup?

Thanks,
Branden

Branden, the mount is a Lido cup holder mount from cheapham.com

The radios chasis is mounted under the front passenger seat, the mounting bracket is zip tied to the bottom of the seat springs and is quite sturdy....Heat has not been a problem thus far even on the high power setting..

I think you know what I meant......I was just being critical, as you said you sold "ALL" your HF gear.....lol. A TS-2K for mobile....??? I guess you'd have the room in the truck. You might look into the TS-480X as well. From what I've heard people are liking them. I'm a Kenwood man and I've just never liked the looks of the 2K. Did you hear.........Kenwood is coming out with a new HF radio.... They will unveil it at Daton. Doesn't "look" like anything special tho. They are keeping very tight lipped about it for sure. http://dx-world.net/2009/new-kenwood...ham-fair-2009/

Thanks Mike.

Your underseat zip tie method helps solve another challenge I was having - trying to fabricate a bracket to mount to the seat rails without interfering with the seat movement or electronics underneath...

I appreciate it.
