If you want to continue with the Cobra 75 and just need a way to mount the mic you can use the www.proclipusa.com Jeep mount. It is a right angle piece of plastic that bridges the top of the radio to the lip of the dash top bin. It then has a mounting surface that comes predrilled for their device mounts but you can drill any holes you need for the mic mount.

I have the mount for my 2009 (which is different than the 2011) that I use to mount my iPhone.

I'm running a Midland 1001Z on a custom mount to the passenger side of the console. I used the existing factory screw hole which makes installation an removal easy. I'm using a 4' firefly adjustable tip antenna. I'm getting 1.1 SWR readings. This set up is working well for me.

The antenna is on a quick disconnect an bracket I got from quadratec. It was a little expensive but worth it. I'm getting great range and even though I used the aux outlet for power, the setup is clean. No engine noise. I hope this helps !
