Military antenna
OIC..... So then you don't really talk on the radio when you're running down the road...???
Edit: I just got done looking at the Hi-Q website. What kind of warranty does he provide? I looked all over and couldn't find anything.

I don't use warranties often so I didn't look. If the military is using it in place of standard issue its good enough for me. Eham gives it a good review.
Actually you can transmit with the antenna in that position. NVIS allows you to hit station close in the skip zone (approx. 150 miles). Its not perfect but doable.

I have been using a military tie-down bracket with 550 cord. It puts a lot of stress on the bottom element. The HF version of shakespeare antennas are not as flexible as their VHF ones you normally see on the HUMVEEs. I just finished fabbing a NVIS adapter that allows me to cant it at 90 degrees or lock vertical when stopped. As much as I like it I am considering switching out with the Hi-Q (screwdiver). The Marine Corp is using them with similar military spring mounts. My Army buddies will give me hell be it will still have the military look I was going for.

I was thinking CB was @ 10MHz?
