I'm very happy with it. it has a button to quickly switch to emergency channels, and a weather station button.

Good write up. I have a similar set up but had had lots of reception problems. I'm currently switching my system and looking for improvements. I'll need to check out the "washer ordering" reference above.

just wondering why i keep seeing a ground mentioned. when i purchased mine from CB store i was told adding a ground would only interfere with my reception. mine is mounted to spare tire carrier as well but i drilled it into the plastic for now up here in NY they dont have the mounting bracket that u all are using.havent tried it yet should i be worried with out a ground?

Usually when you mount the stud for the antenna the bottom side of the metal bracket would be your ground. The top side should have the plastic washer on top of the mount, then the stud, then antenna, if that makes sense. I will post a pic when i get home

OK snapped a couple pics of the mount. I have a 20' coax and a 3' firestik II. My SWR read at 1. I ground the black coating off the bottom of the teraflex mount for the ground. No ground wire needed this way.

Talk about irony. Just as I am reading this, UPS pulls up with my Cobra 75 kit! Thanks for the tips on the antenna mounting. Gotta go, have a new CB to install!

you installing it? also It says you can pick from 2 types of antennas a wilson and a firestick any opinions on either of
