I think is an awesome set up I'm about to order one now. I was thinking about installing it so that the mic comes out in the sound bar above the center console

Default Grounding the antenna

Question, It doesn't look like you grounded the antenna, wondering if that worked fine for you or if you think you need a ground.

Thx.

I thought the antenna grounds through the mount (and bolts) into the tailgate. Is that not the case?

Buydig.com apparently doesn't carry the cobra 75 anymore... I guess I waited a week too long

There are still tons of places to get one. Even Ebay has several.

Camping world stocks them, and even sells the parts separate, not as cheap as eBay though.

Well looks like some folks feel that the paint and other things that connect the hinges of the door to the body can be an unreliable ground. A few different installs show guys running a separate ground wire. I personaly would rather not do that and was wondering if you've had any problems. If it works it works though, others might be over doing it with the extra ground. As i think about it, the tailgate probably grounds on the latch as well as the hinges. The extra ground wire may just be redundant.

I have the same set up and noticed that where the mike connects gets loose and pulls through the hole. Mybe im just a dumb ass and installed it wrong. Does anyone know of a place that makes/sells a one piece dash mountable 4 pin mic connector that wont move around everytime i plug/unplug the mic?
