I agree. I have tested several CB's with built in SWR, and some have been 0.3 - 0.5 off compared to my meter (that is confirmed correct), but if you have a decent radio, they will most likely always give you a clue of how bad/good your SWR is...
The radio I am using now has a built in, and it works ok, not 100%. I can at least see if it goes up or down when making adjustments.
There is no need to buy one, if your SWR seems ok on all channels, and you can send/receive fine. Just borrow a meter later to confirm that your built in SWR meter is correct.
