On my travels I have noticed that there are alot of jeeps with radios and I think it would be cool to have a unofficial channel to turn to and find out where they are from and where they are headed. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

I've heard of groups using CB Channel 4 because of the 4-wheel-drive reference. Back in the day, my radio club used 13; we figured people would stay away from the "unlucky" number and there'd be less likelihood of someone else using our channel as we traveled different places.

 

Maybe that's why the jeep club I wheel with uses 13. it's also kinda lose to 19 where a lot of people tune their antennas to be strongest.

 

Our group usually runs on CH 16

Channel 16 I guess is the winner so when everyone is running around don't forget the tune in.

 

We use 16 all the time. Tried 4 for a while bad reception and transmit, tried 8 for a while, same issues, 16 is clear sometimes some skip but just makes sense on 16 4x4
