I have contacted Hawaii, England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Alaska (Dave), and Brazil in the jeep that I can remember.

The DX contest is still going on and 15 and 10m are loaded with contacts.

Multiple JA's today, New Zeland and others were contacted today in the shack.

Default Not Mobile but with mobile equipment!

Today, was great on 10M and 12M. I had 5 QSOs today on my mobile equipment used as a base in my house - hope this counts
Equipme3/17/12nt - Kenwood TS-480SAT with a 4 foot Firestick CB Antenna mounted onto a file cabinet and a speaker wire as a radial All transmissions were USB at 100W.
10M
Hawaii - KH6LC KEAAU, HI 4144.64 miles
Mexico - XE1BY
VP5H - Turk Islands??? 1735.66 miles
6Y1V - Jamaica - 1770.11 miles

12M
EA8YB - Canary Islands 4046.23 miles

This is a great hobby! Still looking for a good portable antenna, I can use inside. I have been looking at the Chamelon Antennas either a V1 or V2L. Any thoughts?

3/17/12 10M PS2T San Paulo, Brazil 4998 miles!
3/18/12 Has been a terrible day - Static on all the channels - what's going on!

Congrats on the contacts! Have you looked at the Moxon antenna? It's an easy antenna to build and has gain over a dipole. You "might" be able to fit it inside... http://www.moxonantennaproject.com/

First DX:
Band- 20M
Antenna- ATAS 120
Power & Radio- FT-857d 100w
From and To. CA to HI 2495mi

First International QSO (second DX ever):
Band- 10M
Antenna- ATAS 120
Power & Radio- FT-857d 100w
From and To. CA to Australia 8180 miles

Picked up CA to MT (800mi) on 6m in the jeep w/ the same setup that was a surprise.

I did 44 unique DXCC entities from the base this weekend. At the end of it all I think I may have a chance to win my area on 10m. Wish I'd have thought about that when I was chasing people on the other bands. Not too bad for 100w and a 40m loop. BTW, at least half of my entities were within the 10m Tech band plan. So, I could have "worked the world" w/o upgrading to General or Extra.

I worked a guy on 10meters with 5 watts from Matagorda Island Texas to the Dominican Republic. Used a 3 Foot Hamstick attached to a ARR mount.
