Notice that this thread was originally posted March 3, 09.....I tried back then with one other guy, it didn't work and nothing became of it. I only bumped it back up to see if anybody might be interested now. Other than Petrus, nobody has input any time preferences yet, so it doesn't look like there is much interest. The prop has been very bad the last 4 days or so, and may continue that way for awhile. But still, if you guys are interested then we need to put some times up so we can come to a happy medium.

I was up last night at about 7:30. I turned up the power. The next time I keyed I got the ESP/BAS indicator and the Traction Control indicator you get when you turn ESP/BAS off using the button on the bottom of the dash. Oops. Going to keep the power turned down until I figure that out.

I am usually driving to and from work at 0530 - 0600 and 1530 - 1600 Pacific. That is when I can almost always be on.

"Turned up the power"......to what...???

I'm able to do a sked anytime on the weekends and every other Friday. But other than that I'm only available after 6:30 pm Pacific time.

FT-857D -> Scorpion SA-680. No amp. I went out once at 25W. No problem, no response. I turned up to 75W. I turned it back down to 50W and the indicators didn't come back on.

I suddenly started having no so pleasant visions of my transmisiions interacting with the SRS Airbag system. "CQ, C.." POW!!! That would hurt.

The FT-857 is under the passenger seat. The coax goes across under the drivers seat, under the plastic seat belt cover, to the rear over the fender, into the void behind the brakelight, out the bottom under the foam board, up through a hole drilled in the bumper to the antenna mounted to the bumper. I don't know if RF got into something. The cable is well made using good quality connectors and RG58 cable.

I am also using the MH-59A8J which according to reviews can be prone to RF itself. Some people have no problems. Some people only transmit static when they speak.

Sent you a PM as well. This may not be the answer but make sure that radio is grounded. There's no ground nut on the back like many others. You attach a ground strap (or cable) to where the mobile mount attaches to the radio then to some nice non painted metal. I sanded then drilled a nice little hole near the front leg of the seat.

I just came in the house to eat dinner.

I tried 14.275 with no luck for any body responding.

I heard a couple of guys but I was not able to make contact with the mobile tonight on 20m.

None of my other hamsticks tune good enough to try and get a CQ out. I am going to bond the tailgate and body this weekend. If that does not cure it, a tuner is in my future.

Well...are we gonna try and make this happen or what? Like I said, we all have to agree on a time or we're just pissin' in the wind. Jump in here with a time that you would "like" to see it happen and we all can try to come to a happy medium.......ok? Better use UTC time so we don't have to figure time zones and all.

My best time would be sometime after 0130. I realize that's kinda late for 20m, but it's the best I can do during the week when I work. I can go earlier on the weekends.

I am out of town until late this week or next weekend. All I have is a VX-7R HT so I am out until next weekend.

That's ok.....let's just work on times for now. So you're not good with any other time other than in the morning? What about after work because that's the only time I can do a sked.
