U Connect
No. But, I've got one on order. After knashing my teeth about it for several months, I finally came to the conclusion that I liked the all inclusiveness of the unit and the 3 year warranty. I've got the RES in my Grand and, from a navigation and entertainment standpoint, it does pretty much everything I need. Plus, as I mention above, I'm also convinced that you'll eventually be able to buy parts to make the U-Connect operational, though they may be intended for a different Chrysler vehicle.
I will probably break down and get a MyGig as well. I wonder if a dealer would install the U Connect bluetooth bits and pieces but not the microphone. I would like the caller ID features that bluetooth would offer as well as dialing from the contact database (if that is possible through U Connect). I can always use a bluetooth headset for the actual call so I could care less about having the microphone part of the system.

Being a techo-junky at heart, I can't wait to play with a MyGig... if you factor in what you would have to buy, 1 ipod, 2 DVD player, 3 GPS, 4 SIRIUS radio, etc, its not actually a bad deal at $1600...
The u-connect I can live without... what's it do that my cell phone w/speaker phone doesnt do?

Does anybody know where I can track down info on the MyGig system? Namely, I know some aftermarket head units will not play DVDs unless you are parked. Is this the same on MyGig? Also, does the unit have any pre-amp outputs for hooking up an amp? Is there a rear-view camera available for it? What about hooking up additional lcd monitors?
Any help would be appreciated.

I just ordered my JK with the MyGig. No rear camera option that I know of, and yes you must be parked to watch a DVD. Still questioning whether or not UConnect will work with. I have heard from a few members that it wont. Yet anyway. Mygig has the voice activitated nav, so I am hoping the UConnect will work. It has some cool options, like the storage for pics and music, and the Sirius. Hope this helped

Here's a link that might help answer your other question

Also... I'm told that the twenty gig hard drive in the MYGig gets mostly taken up by the music program
and the maps that are on file, leaving you with a wopping 6 to 8 gig for your own files.
And one other thing...You can't add your own maps to the nav system,
like if you wanted to maybe put some topo maps in there.

I've posted this elsewhere on this forum, but it seems to me if you're willing to buy other parts to get UConnect, why not research other bluetooth companies, like Parrot, who have kits that will work w/just about any OEM head unit, and give you hands free, dim the radio when you're on a phone call, voice recognition dialing, and other features.....I think it's only a little over $200.
