whip antenna?

I've got an old school whip antenna that works great. I will continue to use it until I break it or it gets stolen (which it probably won't). The only picture I have of it....

how are you securing the antenna to the front of the jeep when you bow it over?

We did A LOT of testing years ago with the 102" stainless whip. It pretty much was the best CB mobile antenna there was. We all were running them. Then the Wilson 1000 came out. It was almost a dead heat between the two. As far as I know these two antennas are still the best thing going as far as putting out, and receiving, a signal.

Mine is mounted to the front bumper.
I pulled it over the windshield and tied it to the loop in the center of the windshield frame.

any other ideas on how to tie the front of the antenna to the hood? i'm gonna mount the antenna on the spare tire carrier..how do folks have it attached to the front if i wanna bow it over?

the good thing about the 102 in whip is that they can handle alot of power,from what i hear

You could stick one of these on the hood or the top of the windshield frame:



I like mine on the front, since it bends back with the flow of the trail trees and brush as I'm moving forward.
On the back, bent forward all the time, I would say you are likely to catch on lots of greenery.

Back in my "outlaw" days I was running better than a kilo thru mine, no problems at all.....
