It is fairly quick, might take a little longer if they have not done it before-they have to hook up a battery charger to maintain battery voltage and then reflash the computer,it should only take an hour or two.

Not me. He only hooked up the Starscan and it took 5 min. even with his fumbling.

That's funny, I just called to ask the Jeep service department if they had a fix for the video playback problem yet. And he told me that there would never be a fix for it. Needless to say I was a little short with him. Thanks to all of you, and this informative website, I can now tell this guy what a chump he really is!

I'm confused now. I bought my '08 manual in March. I haven't had the flash but I can watch movies with my parking brake up and in neutral?

That's a pretty recent purchase. I don't know exactly when this TSB came out, but your dealership may have already known of it and applied it before you bought the Jeep.

Some dealerships are way better than others on this kind of stuff.

I'll try a few more DVDs when I get home because the more I think about it, when I first got it I tried to play a movie and all I got was the sound. Maybe my dealership took care of the TSB when I had my JK in for a leaky top and non-working wipers. Hmm...

Just got back from the dealership and all is well. I can now watch a movie while sitting at a stop light.

It took about 20 minutes for the TSB to be applied, but I had to convince them it existed and they tried telling me it wouldn't work. Oh, well. Now I just have to wait for someone to figure out how to bypass the sensor so it doesn't know when I'm moving... The lockpick will do that, of course, but that's just not worth the $$ to me...
