2011 MyGig Navigation Question
First, allow me to sincerely express my gratitude to all of you for looking into this and for kicking in your 2 cents on the subject. I have some news, not necessarily good for me, but at least I know how to proceed.
I did actually try the simulation button as one of you previously suggested, no luck. I spoke with someone in dealership support who was able to confirm what quite98 stated, the unit is an RHB model, not RER as I was told and as I had hoped. It is a 2011 model and does not have an external antenna. I was told, and many of you probably know this, that the RHB is the same as the RER except the maps are provided by Harmon, not Garmin (at least for the 2011 MyGig). However, if any of you were able to see the pics from the eBay auction where I bought this, you saw the picture of the main page map which looks identical to Garmins. Strange.
I took it to the dealership this morning and dropped it off hoping they could "work some magic." It wasn't too long after they called and said it is not compatible with the the 2008 JK. I didn't think to ask if it was compatible with 2009-2010's, my apologies now that I think of it in case some of you might be looking for a newer model MyGig.
I have been in communication with the seller on eBay and he has offered to provide me with a 2010 RER MyGig or give me a full refund. He has also apologized for the wrong information provided in the auction. I really want a MyGig RER unit so I told him to please find me one. The only real bummer for me is that I'll have to use an external antenna now which I was trying to avoid before. On the upside, I know what I need to do AND my four Kicker (77Kick10) speakers arrived today to complete my small audio improvement project.
Again, thank you for all of the supportive posts everyone; your input was appreciated. If anyone wants specific information regarding this model MyGig or the phone number to dealership/product support which was quite helpful actually, send me a PM and I'll provide whatever you need (wasn't sure if I can post it on here).

That is a great update. Glad you are getting the 2010 that you can use. The external antenna for the mygig is cheap, I got one at the dealer for $31, and it is super easy to install. If I was you I would just use two sided tape. It installs right above the mygig on the plastic on the left hand side. there is a thing that looks like a plus sign and it fits right on. you can't get it wrong.
Guy from ebay says this RHB needs an intergreted antenna (sirius and gps together) can be added, also claims that the gps is Garmin not Harmon that Harmon would be a counterfet, he has added the antenna to his 08 wrangler and driven around and says everything works fine. He is now including the antenna with the unit. Guess we will have to wait and see after more of these units get on the block
With the newer Chrysler radios they have combined the Nav and Sat into one antenna. So if you put a 2011 radio in an earlier JK, you will have to do one of 2 things.
1. Get a new NAV/SAT combo antenna.
2. Get an adapter which combines your current Nav and Sat antennas and plugs into the single connector on the 2011 vehicles.
