550 for uconnect.....
Better quote than I got from my dealership, I think the part is like $225. I've been told install isn't that bad but, its all in the dash. And after wards the programming needs to be redone so it recognizes the mic and new hardware.
Seems way out of whack. I had the u-connect module installed shortly after I got my 2010 Sport last May and it only cost about $275 (installed) and that included the i-pod cable. The part cost about $225 and the installation was about $50. Maybe the additional cost is to upgrade your radio. In order to add u-connect you have to have the correct radio. If I were you I'd check other dealerships.
You don't need to pay the dealer! Have you heard of the "lockpik?" It unlocks all the functions of the MYGIG. This was the first thing I did on my JK back in 09. Very simple install and operation. Check out this link: http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm
They also sell mics, cameras etc.. Installed both..

The big question like others have already asked is which radio is installed in your JK?
