Anyone install a backup camera?
go ahead and get yourself the kit, it's cheap but works, it's by no means the Cadillac of systems but it does the job, it's absolutely dead simple to install and you'll figure it out when you just dig in and start

no...just drilled through the plastic about a 1/4" hole so you can run the wires through up to your reverse light, than used a couple small screws to attach the camera mount to the plastic skin of the bumper, you don't need to worry about drilling through steel here...I suppose if your really concerned the camera may come off you could use bolts and nuts but mines been on for just shy of a year now and no problems at all
...well, yes, but it's kind of a lame mount and I personally didn't use it...you'll have to figure out where and how you like yours mounted and use a little imagination...
you don't have to switch the monitor on and off manually with the VR3, monitor is wired to an ignition power source, it comes on when jeep is running but will stay a black screen until it receives a wireless signal from the camera...or oddly enough your local 7-11 wireless camera as they operate on the same band width...so as long as you've wired the camera to come on when in reverse thats the only time it will come on automatically, or if you opt to wire your camera from a button, well than you will manually turn it on and off which to some is the preffered method
