on the new ones no need for soldering. Did mine 2 months ago, no soldering.

got it. thanks. the rep from cooltech just responded to my email as well and said that the website is incorrect and will be changed - comfirmed no soldering as well.

I went ot their website to check it ou, but the links to all the products are bum links or just say "Coming Soon".
