I might have to change to fogs or low beams instead. As for the low of high beams being too dim, it is important to remember that the purpose of DRL's are to help people see you, not for you to see the road. It doesn't take much light to be more visible while driving. Just my $.02. FYI, I have a 6 speed and the DRL's come on after e-brake is off.
I've noticed that, too. Even on full brightness, the head lights don't help to see the road in the daytime.

Ahahah! The parking brake kills the DRL? AND here I''ve been thinking something was wrong with my procal as I've been putting the Jeep in drive with the lights off, pulling the e-brake and getting out to look and see if they were working and nothing would be on

If you can do it with a Procal, I'm sure the dealer can do it too. I guess you need to see what they charge. The Procal is only $150.

Is there a state in the US where daytime running lights are required? (not including during inclement weather)

The dealer I went to couldn't do it because the Dealer Connect service wouldn't allow it.

I did the same thing at first. I thought the program didn't work until the next time I drove it. That was my "Duh" moment.

I live in Canada , Ontario infact and it's manditory here so to still comply with the mto rules I got the procal and changed my day time runners to the signal lights on the front so I could run my hid's without the headlights running at 1/2 power which those lights don't like
The procal was also able to let me change my tire size amongst many other things so it was worth the money for me
Another bonus is that the signal lights are cheaper to replace than a set of headlight H13 bulbs if you end up burning them out sooner

I'm also in Ontario. The reason I got the Procal is I upgraded to a Daniel Stern headlight kit, and with the new relayed harness if I forgot to turn my lights on the DRL's would blast full powered high beam at the poor oncoming vehicles. Not a problem anymore.

being able to turn the DRL function on is cool, but as a motorcylce owner it is frustrating. Since so many cars have the lights, people just ignore them. A few years ago, our headlights being on during the day for a motorcycle was a huge advantage in being seen during the day, but the DRL have sort of minimized this. Enjoy your cool DRL's and watch out for Jeep owners on their motorcycles.

Just added some DRL - here they are at night - I'll take a daytime picture tomorrow.

Second picture - think they can see me coming?
