dealer installs new mygig rer and now I have NO VIDEO!!
I just recalled reading somewhere on this forum that there is a config the dealer can make based on the state you live in to allow video while parked. You may just need the dealer to adjust the setting.
From day one my JK would NOT play video even with the parking brake applied and sitting dead flat still... I went though this whole line of visits to the dealer and they did everything they could. They never figured it out.....BUT I did!!! It's called the Lockpic....One of the best investments I ever made for the JK...If you don't have it go get it! It turns the MyGig into a wonderful piece of equipment.. 8 screws and 2 plugs later the install it complete. No cutting, no soldering, no splicing, just simply plug and play...15min. done!

I see you did say that. If you have a manual tranny then it wont enable the video because having video in the front is against the law while driving. The only way to have video is if the truck is in park and that tells the MyGig its safe to play video. In a manual the Mygig has no idea if its in park, 1st, 3rd etc.
Here is what the dealer needs to do:
1. Connect the StarSCAN®.
2. From the Home Screen, enter “ECU View”.
3. Select “Radio”.
4. Select “Misc. Functions”.
5. Select “Enable/Disable Front Seat Video”.
6. Select “Enable” or “Disable” as desired.
7. Select finish to exit.

here answers the questions.....
Due to certain state regulations, a function for disabling the front seat video option has been incorporated into the vehicle as a running change. This function will enable or disable the radios ability to play video in the front seat. If enabled, the radio will only play video when the vehicle is in Park (Automatic Transmission) or when the parking brake is set and vehicle speed is zero (Manual Transmission). If disabled, the radio will NOT play video in the front seat in any operating mode.
Certain state laws mandate that the Front Seat Video feature, on vehicles so equipped, be disengaged prior to vehicle delivery.
Vehicles equipped with the Front Seat Video ‘My GIG’ feature (sales codes RER, REN, REU), and delivered to the following states, must have the Front Seat Video feature disengaged during the New Vehicle Prep process, using the StarSCAN tool:
Connecticut
Florida
Illinois
Kansas
Michigan
New Mexico
Nevada
Oklahoma
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Maryland
Utah
Wyoming

i have a manual and video works fine when stopped an in park. in maryland there is absolutely nothing that says you cant watch movies in the driver's seat, IF the car is parked. on older dvd players, it was easy to bypass as they were just equipped with a back wire that attached to the parking brake that read ground when the parking brake was applied. on newer dvd players, and im assuming the mygig, there is the parking brake wire and an internal gyro that detects movement of the vehicle.
also, we bought out jeep in maryland, so the above is kinda wrong.

Just because your one jeep was a certain way makes you think that the info above is wrong?

Did you order your Jeep? or was it already at the dealer or what? Cause here they trade vehicles with other dealers all the time. Your jeep might not have started in maryland. Also, just because it is supposed to be set a certain way does not mean it is. The dealer is in charge of programming it. It says above that it is set as part of "New Vehicle Prep process, using the StarSCAN tool". "New veh. prep. " is done at the dealer when they install the antenna, remove all the plastic wrap inside, and all the other stuff they do between the unloading from the truck and handing you the keys.

oh... well I cannot say I know anything about state laws in maryland. That is just what the website said. You a Cop or something? I live in Texas and it says it is illegal here.... but I have never heard that before. Then again, I am not a cop or anything so I dunno.

the way the law translates here though is that basically you cannot have any video playing in view of the front seat occupants. im not saying that Mopar didnt take the text exact and completely disable the mygig video, because its possible. maybe dealerships just arent enforcing it or maybe dont even realize how to disable it.
