Electronic stability control light comes on. Why?
The other day I was just driving on the freeway doing about 70 and the ESC light came on. It stayed on until I started the Jeep the next day. It has done this twice now. Does anyone have any ideas why?
If your steering wheel is slightly off, the logic thinks your in a turn. But if your actually going straight, then both wheels are moving at the same speed. Which would indicate a wheel slipping.
What does that mean a wheel slipping? How do I make the wheel not slip?

Traction control normally kicks in when the vehicle thinks it is slipping or in a rollover situation. A light turn shouldn't affect it. I had issues with mine at one point, but only during hard cornering, when some body roll was involved.
It's strange. It just came on and stayed on. When I turn jeep off and then back on the light would still be on for a minute then shut off.
When you lift your Jeep, it may be necessary to recenter your steering wheel ( is it slightly turned when going straight? ). The Jeep looks at the steering wheel position. And compares that to the different wheel / tire speeds. If the Jeep see's the wheel slightly turned. And both tires moving at the same speed, then it derives that one wheel must be slipping. Because in a normal turn, the outside wheel must be rolling faster than the inside wheel.
