Factory RES, RHR & RER same mic?
Originally I had an RES w/ uconnect in my 2013 Wrangler. I've since installed an RHR. I have a question regarding the mic, however. Does the factory RES w/ Uconnect, RER and RHR all use the same microphone? I'd like to utilize the factory mic for the RHR, but can't get a definitive answer if that's possible. I have a part number of 82211743AB (for a uconnect mic) however when I call the dealership they tell me that's a special order (takes about two weeks) and is only for the RER. I'm extremely confused! Any and all help is appreciated, as always.

On your RES system, there is a separate UConnect module that the Mic connects to. That connector on the module is a 22 pin Connector.
On the RHR and RER Radios, There is a 10 pin connector that the Mic connects to.
So therefore, you would need the pinout for each connector, to cross reference them so you could move the correct wires from the 22 pin connector to a 10 pin connector.
However, the connector for the microphone on the RER and RHR are exactly the same. So if you purchased a mic kit for an RER, it would work on an RHR radio. The RHR is the newer version of the RER radio. I originally had an RER in my JK, and then upgraded to an RHR. The microphone was plug and play. See my signature for my RHR install write up for further details.

Thanks for the help. Looks like all it takes is a little re-wiring to make it work, and i'm going to give that a shot. For some reason, those links you posted aren't working.

OK, Here's what you do. This is a nice website for getting connector information.
Go Here:
Mopar Connector Repair Kit Website
To find the UConnect Module connector, I entered the following:
Year:2012
Model:JK Wrangler
On the page that pops up, in the "Select component to review", just select the 1st item and press "Go". This will give you a list of all the connectors. Scroll down on that list to "Module-Hands Free C1" and click on that link, which will take you to that 22 way connector pin out diagram of the Uconnect Handsfree module. Hopefully, that's the same one you have. If not, then you now know how to find the one you have.
To find the RHR 10 pin connector, I entered the following starting from the link I posted above.
Year:2011
Model:WK Grand Cherokee
On the page that pops up, in the "Select component to review", just select the 1st item and press "Go".
Then Scroll down to "Radio C1 - (IP) 10 Way". Click on that link, and it will give you the pin out diagram for the RHR 10 pin connector. The 2011 Grand Cherokee was available with an RHR with hands free Uconnect. Thus, the reason I selected that Year/Model.

As an accessory note for this, there is a member of another forum that I posted in the link below that did this same mod to his system. See post # 3 in the thread below.

Hey Rednroll,
Looks like a helpful link, thanks. I'll have to add it to my notes.

I ran across that from someone who posted it on another Wrangler forum when i was Googling some pinout information. Seems like a great site as a one stop shopping for Chrysler pin out diagrams.
