Default thumbs down on hids !!!

I as many on here weighed the different options and i went the hid route. I bought the kit put it in and the flickered liked strobe lights, then i bought the harness that claimed to stop the flickering and that did nothing . next i went to radio shack bought a .45 cent resistor jammed it into the harness where i forum told me to and that stopped the flickering. The hids not being in a projector were absolutely horrible. the output of quality useable light was worse than stock the light spread so much not being in a projector that everything but the road was lit it seamed. after completely wasting a couple hundred bucks I tore them out and put the stock lights back in and said piss on it for the time being. i adjusted the light which made them better but I'm still looking for a better light.

I thought about the hellfires as well, but decided not to as I had heard several stories much like 09darkorangejk experienced and when u shelling out a few hundred bones and are not happy with the outcome u will be pissed and still have to shell out more money.

I can definitely tell u I have no regrets about going with TLs. I went with the bustabiz deal on gen ones. If i was buying today i would probably shell out an extra ~$90 and go with the gen 2 deal for $430.

Yeah but doesn't rebel offroad offer a lifetime warranty with them? I'm just a broke college kid and it's hard to dish out $430 for headlights

Ya I hear ya there. Rebels Hellfires do look pretty good and they are roughly 1/2 the price. Maybe someone could chime in that is running a set. I have never seen a set in person.

If you guys haven't seen the headlight review on the interweb (outside of this forum) you should check it out. Google "*******s headlights" and go to the second result.... "shootout." This pretty much sold me on JWS over TL but there are Rebels in the review too if you want to go HID instead of LED. Furthermore it's quite interesting stock housings perform better than aftermarket in the Rebel tests.

Sweet so this forum even blocks that. Google jk owners headlight shootout" and see the first result. If this gets blocked again try "jk headlight shootout" and it's the 4th option down.

That's why I was asking about the rebels. I saw the review and they looked good.

I'm very happy with my Truck-Lites - Appearance is awesome and they perform very well. Low beam has a sharp horizontal line, and High is exellent range.
