Ok so I bought a pair of the IPF after market headlights. Wanted that blue look but just turned out to be more problems than I expected.... First off the one side kept going out and I kept on taking a part the lights and plugging them back in and it just came back on randomly, the bulbs were fine and then it eventually started to get worse and worse untill the passenger side went out and the bulb was shot so I replaced it with h4s, which it states when you buy the headlights they say it will work like factory.... Clearly not and now I hardwired both and the driver side has no problems now the passenger side is out once again. Just took it apart and noticed that the black wire completely melted the connector to the bulb... And a bunch of forums said if you hardwire the IPF with the stock bulbs you'll be fine.. But here's a few pictures and does anyone know what the email address is that I can contact to send me a new set of lights or a refund. If it stated on the product description that it will work with factory specs, it should. Very poor product in my case nothing but problems..

It looks like you had a short or something. That shouldn't happen with changing a bulb...were your stock lights ever flickering?

What bulbs are you using?

Did you use a h13 to h4 adapter? From IPF?
Or by hardwired, do you mean you cut off the h13 and installed an h4 connector?

I used the exact same watts as the bulbs I got with the IPF set. Just not the white/blue that the IPF bulbs gave off. And my lights were not flickering when I had it stock. And yes in the package I got from IPF I did use the IPF adaptors. Then after it kept going out so I hardwired both, thinking the problem would go away, but it didn't.

So, in the picture (excuse me if I'm missing something you already said), what is the black wiring harness? IPF or stock?

The black wire is what melted off. And the black wire, along with the red and white wire are all apart of the IPF connector. When I first got the headlight I disconnected the stock light harness and plugged in the IPF harness, then I hardwired and now this. People said I should fix the problem but I'm wondering as to why it overheated and melted the bulb, plus where the bulb plugs into. I used the exact same bulbs as IPF ones also. Same watts/volts. But clearly there's a defect here. I messages quadratec, and nothing back yet.

Wow, that sucks! I have the same IPF setup for a while now and it was simply plug-and-play with no flickering or problems whatsoever. They blow away the factory lights by a mile!

What year jeep do you have?

OP, did you check the voltage? The system is PWM so should not send full voltage to the bulbs unless bypassed with a harness.

Strange to see it cook that connector.
Could it be overheating from the DRLs?

Any other electrical issues? Maybe it's more than just the lights.

Slightly off topic,
I ran the IPFs with the H4 adapter for a while no problem. As mentioned much better than stock. But they do scatter the light and have a poor beam pattern (Hilldweller measured the scatter in his extensive shoot out). I'm running Cibies lenses now with the same adapter and bulbs I had with the IPFs and the improvement astounds me.

The IPF bulbs we were amazing compared to stock. But as for any other electrical problems, there's none. And my jeep is a 2007. Just Confused at what I should do, I need a new connector now, but the bulb I put in now works but I'm worried it might melt more then cause something like a fire maybe. But all in all IPF definitely improved vision but right now I'm just scratching my head as to why this happened. Does any know what I should do in the mean time? Is there anything I can do?
