You could upgrade the tweeters but then you run the risk of running too "bright" or too much treble. An overload on high end frequency's also cause ear fatigue. Not necessarily a bad thing if you like a lot of treble in your music but since you're not running a subwoofer (stock or aftermarket) to balance out the high ends then it's probably not worth to upgrade.
Exactly what I wanted to hear. Can't wait to get them in and see how they sound.

Another dumb question. These Kicker speakers being coaxial have a tweeter and driver in the one unit correct? Would it be best to unhook the factory cheap tweeters in that case?

Honestly, it would be best to buy a set of component speakers for the front and replace the stock woofer AND tweeter.

I got thinking that today while I was installing these Kickers in the rear... (2015 had tweeters front and rear)

Why would you put coax speakers in a 2015? This year's model year had components front and rear. I get it that people are trying to find an inexpensive way to upgrade their sound, but honestly you get out of it what you put into it. For less than a cup of coffee per day you can have a killer sound system and it will wake you up just as much. (Assuming you will keep the Jeep for 3 years). While very good sound is important to me I also understand it isn't for other people.

Cause I'm an impulse shopper sometimes! Plug and play upgrade for $72/pr just sounded like a great idea until I upgrade to more power. Didn't dawn on me that component front and rear would make way more sense. Plus I didn't see any that are plug and play simplicity like these.

Plus! I don't know jack about what would be best to buy. There are tons of component systems and these Kickers are a nice simple middle of the road fix.

Sorry if I offended you. I see a thread for kicker replacement speakers and cringe every time it pops up because I went through the process. Like I said before, good sound is important to me so I spent time when I ordered my jeep looking into the kicker system, going to stereo stores from best buy to high-end shops and listening to speakers, amps and subs. I concluded that for me, I would upgrade it all. I have a 2013 that had a much worse sound system than the 2015. Some people will put thousands into lift kits, wheels and tires that they never take off road, others on a stereo so they can enjoy music with the top down on the interstate. I can tell you my wife thinks I spend too much on everything related to my Jeep and thinks I'm ridiculous for wanting my key-hole to be black. Haha

Not at all offended! I definitely understand what you're saying. I researched most things but did rush into this purchase. They are better speakers but components would have been the best choice. I think I'm going to use these Kickers front and rear until I upgrade EVERYTHING at some time in the future. The base speakers in the 2015's are very very bad.

Yeah I think everybody that was on this thread aside from the both of you have 2012 or older models and are happy just to get better clarity with a little ooomph without having to kill the wallet. Wasn't aware they moved to components in the 15's.

Oddly, I got distracted (squirrel!) over the weekend and started reading up on audio; I'm purely an amateur, so I'll just relay what I read. There's a thread on another forum that outlines a significant sound upgrade by performing a $2.00 20 minute fix for the tweeters (soldering in a capacitor), adding poly-fil to the soundbar, upgrading the soundbar speakers (Infinity or Kicker), and replacing the subwoofer (Pioneer) all for ~$160 total. Plug n play, too. The OP took measurements to figure out inexpensive solutions compatible with the OEM head unit. Everyone who did the mods had very positive feedback.

I ordered all the parts yesterday. I'm not expecting miracles or audiophile sound, but if I get a significant improvement and keep the OEM controls, it'll be $160 well spent.
