u-connect question
my jeep came with the buttons for the u-connect option but it is not installed. What do I do to install this option. Is there an aftermarket chip or something?

Unfortunately, the U-Connect buttons do not funtion on the JK. There is no part available at this time, nor is one expected in the fututre...

There is a TSB out for the u connect telling dealers that it is not supposed to work in the JK and not to switch out the radio. It does however work in other DC vehicles with the same radio. I will look for the TSB, I forgot where I saw it.

See Now I just don't understand this! If it works with the same radios but different vehicles what piece are we missing and why the hell is DC not trying to offer it in the JK?

I dont think its just a chip... I was reading up about the u-connect and your rear view mirror has to have a microphone built into it. So it might be not having the microphone thats doing it, if the radios are the exact same as those working in other DC vehicles with u-connect.

but hell, what would it hurt. Robar is right, most of em dont know about the TSB's. I might roll up to the dealership this weekend and tell them that my u-connect isnt working, and ask them to fix it. Maybe I'll get a free uconnect outta it!

Ok, I called DC today, and they gave me a number to UConnect (877-855-8400). First the rep said "its not available at this time" then after some poking and proding, she broke down and said "no it will not be available"
So, now Im going to my dealer, and Im going to push them for some sort of compensation. One of the big reasons why I bought a 6 speed is because of the Uconnect option that my sales guy sold me on.
