Default what type toggle do I need?

I have this wire harness
Robot Check

I want to cut the switch out and put either a toggle or rocker switch in. How do I know if I need one with 3 connectors or 2 in back?
On the two I assume one is pos the other is neg? What is the 3rd one for?

Any help. going to a 20 in led light bar

Thanks

Third is ground. Grounding is always best. I assume 3.

true, third is ground. this ground is only present/needed if the switch has a light in it.

You can put any switch you want. the three polls are usually lighted , figure out where you would like to put it , then pick the one that will fit. I would hook the (white power wire) to a keyed source.

Thanks, I have the existing switch hooked to an keyed source. so I just need to cut the old switch out and add the new. Now lighted or not.
