Default winch question.

is there any reason why i cant leave my controller plugged in? what are the negatives is doing this? thanks.

You mean other than the fact that someone could steal it, use your winch, damage your winch, and run down your battery? Other than that, no reason you couldn't. lol

The controller is mounted in my dash and it's hooked up to the ignition so it won't work unless the key is turned on.

If that's the case, then there doesn't seem to be any problem and most definitely post pics of how you've got it set up.

well here is the controller, some may think it might be a bit cheesy but i did it this way so it would be pretty much dummy proof (incase the wifey gets behind the wheel). right now the solenoid box is behind the grill but i think im goona relocate it as well.

Think about putting in a second power toggle to really make it dummy proof. See 12voltguy.com's stuff it's pretty logically set up.

That looks good, do you have an additional controller for if you want to run the winch outside the Jeep?
