I'm lookin to buy a windshield light bar but don't know what I should get. Can you guys post some pics of what you got and let me know what it is. Is it better to go with LED or just regular off road lights. Look forward to seein some ideas.

Usually you select by the pattern. Since the windshield light bar will place the lights high you should get long range lights. The low mounts usually for spread pattern such as fog lights.

Now, the impression I have from the LED photos I saw show a more spread pattern than conventional bulbs. There might be some very focused, but I have not seen yet. Maybe because they are not so powerful yet?

Therefore, I would install long range HIDs or halogens on top.

How much do you want to spend?

led, HID, halogen are all options to mount on the current bars available today.

I like LED's for the low draw and super bright light output.

search the Rigid LEd threads. expensive, but great lights!

I wasn't completely sold on LED lights until I saw them in action. Like it was already pointed out Rigid makes some amazing products. I've got a 10 inch LED bar on my bumper and to quote my friend "wow you just put the sun on your jeep". I can't imagine what a full bar on the windshield would do. Just my $0.02

I run the 50" and to be honest it's overkill. You'll never need that much light unless you're running dunes in the dessert. If you've got the cash to piss away then by all means go for it. It is unbelievably bright.

I am running a 50" Rigid LED over the windshield on a mount from KMA Fabrication. As stated above, this thing yields an incredible amount of light, but is perfect for night trips on the beach.

Here is a video of the light.
